Circle Switch:
The two end pairs extend the length of the line, by forming circular loops, in pairs, then coming together - each pair on the East or West primary compass point. The dancer starting on the left of the line faces clockwise, the other anti-clock. The two middle pairs switch across the set, passing stick side, and turning to their left, to form on the North and South compass points, again one facing clockwise, the other anti-clock. The (original) left dancer of each pair faces clockwise.
Sticking Hey:
All 4 pairs clash for 4 beats (F-F-FFF), them moving on to the next primary compass point where they clash with their new partner. Continue until back to original compass point. No clashing when back to place.
Line Switch:
The two end pairs hook round their partner to resume their original places at the ends of the two lines. The two middle pairs turn left, then switch across the set, passing stick side, passing around their partners to take their original places in the two lines.
Maiden's Choice Sticking:
All stick with their opposite partner (F-F-FFF). Outside pairs then peel out and round to form a new line at 90 degrees to the original line. Whilst they are doing this, the middle pairs also change 90 degrees to stick with their other (side) partner. All then stick with their partners (opposite). Middle pairs then move out sideways, to let the others in, thus forming lines in the original direction. Repeat.
Circular Hey:
Circular hey, 1st pass is stick side, level with new partner on each secondary compass point. Assume starting at E, clockwise dancer reaches the following every 4 beats: SE; S; SW; W; NW; N; NE; E - arriving back to E after 32 beats
Circle off:
Starting shoulder to shoulder on the primary compass points, the outside 4 dancers dance clockwise round the circle (16 beats). At the same time the inside 4 dance anti-clockwise. Dancers should be on the primary compass points every 4 beats. When the East pair arrives back to their original positions, they lead off into separate corners, in lattice form. In each case the outside, or clockwise dancer passes in front of his partner.
